Fagan Chairman of the Board and Chief

Robert D. "Bob" Fagan was
elected president and chief executive officer of
TECO Energy Inc., in April 1999.
Prior to joining
TECO Energy, he had served as president of
PP&L Global Inc., in Fairfax, Va., since
1994. PP&L Global is a subsidiary of
PP&L Resources Inc., and has ownership in
electric power generation and distribution
companies serving more than two million
customers.
Fagan was vice
president and general manager of Mission Energy
Company from 1989-1994, the power development
arm of Edison International, formerly Southern
California Edison. He was responsible for all of
the company's North American project development
and operations, representing 3,600 megawatts of
capacity.
From 1985 to 1989,
Fagan was vice president of Power Projects for
Combustion Engineering Inc. in Windson, Ct.
Prior to that, he had a nine-year career with
General Electric in Schenectady, New York, which
included responsibilities for the marketing
activities of a $300 million worldwide
business.
He served as an
officer in the US Navy, assigned to Vice Admiral
Hyman Rickover's staff with responsibility for
the design, procurement and maintenance of large
primary plant components for naval
nuclear-powered ships.
He holds a B.A.
degree in Engineering Science and M.E. degree in
Chemical Engineering from Dartmouth. He is a
Registered Professional Engineer in the states
of Maine and Virginia.
He is married to
the former Cynthia Zimmerman.
