Biography
At the National Capital Healthcare Executives (NCHE) meeting on April 9, 2002, Nancy Thompson, Regent for DC, recognized Brian P. Foley, FACHE, as the Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Award recipient. Mr. Foley, a Fellow in ACHE, currently serves as the Director, Allied Health Programs at the Northern Virginia Community College. He has just begun his second career, continuing as a healthcare leader by serving as one of the five directors on the Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) campus. In addition, he was nominated for the tremendous work he did as a healthcare leader before his recent move to NOVA. Mr. Foley's position in the last two years of his 30-year military career was as the Chief Executive Officer (Deputy Commander for Administration) of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC). For five years before that he served as the Chief Operating Officer (Director, Medical Administration and Operations). He has always been active in the development of young healthcare leaders, to include serving as the preceptor for numerous students in their masters programs. In the community, he is very active in his church and other organizations. He contributed tremendously to the DCHA both as the critical leader for WRAMC and as an individual healthcare expert. He is an active participant in the local ACHE affiliate, the NCHE, and was one of the designers of an award winning poster presentation to the 2000 ACHE Congress.
