Biography
Dr. Jim Taylor is the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Provost at Rocky Mountain University. Dr. Taylor moved from Boise State
University where he served for five years as Dean of the College of Health Sciences.
Dr. Taylor, a retired Lt. Col. from the Army Medical Service Corps, has held academic positions as
Director of the School of Allied Health Sciences at Northeast
Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana for two years, and
Associate Dean in the School of Allied Health Professions at Saint
Louis University for nine years. Dr. Taylor currently is President of the
College of Health Deans and formerly sat on the Board of Directors of the Alpha Eta Society,
a national honorary allied health society.
Prior to his civilian health education career, Dr. Taylor held
positions in the Army such as Director of Faculty Development
and Director of Evaluation for the Academy of Health Sciences in
San Antonio, Texas, Director of Medical Humanitarian Services for
the Department of Defense in Panama, and served on the staff
of The Surgeon General, U.S. Army at the Pentagon as well as
in hospitals at Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Dr. Taylor received his Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences
education and a Master of Education degree from the
University of Florida, a Master of Health Administration degree
from Baylor University and a Doctor of Education degree from
The George Washington University in Washington, DC,
specializing in higher education administration and human
resource development.
