Narrative

I was privileged to serve as Director/Professor of the Army-Baylor HCA Graduate Program from 1969 through 1974. I hold a B.S from University of Maryland, an MHA from the Baylor Program (1965 grad) and a Ph. D. from the University of Michigan (awarded in 1969.) My stint as director of the Army-Baylor Program completed my Regular Army career of 29 & 1/2 years service. I am a member of the Infantry School Hall of Fame and Delta Omega, a National Public Health Honorary.

In 1974 I became the founding Director/Professor of the Graduate Program in Health Care Administration at Arizona State University and brought that program to full accreditation. During the ten-year period of my directorship at Arizona State, I also established a graduate program in health administration while consulting at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and also served as a consultant to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (Indian Health Service) in Arizona. While at Arizona State I was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, a business school honorary, and elected to the Faculty Hall of Fame within that university's business college. I am presently a Professor Emeritus, Health Policy & Administration, with Arizona State University.

Upon completing my ten years at Arizona State, I took a leave of absence and spent two years in Anchorage as Executive Director of Alaska's Medicaid Rate Commission. For the final two years of my civilian career I served as Director of Corporate Executive Development for Voluntary Hospitals of America headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Recently I was inducted into the Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame of the Euclid, Ohio Public School System.

I am now fully retired and living at The Fountains at Sea Bluffs, a retirement resort in Dana Point, California where I regularly play the Hammond Organ for the many social events in the community.
